      Born in Santiago, Chile in 1975 Patricia Cifuentes has become one of the most sought-after young sopranos in Latin America especially for her extraordinary abilities in "bel canto" opera. 

      She studied music and voice under Professor Fernando Lara at the school of music at the Universidad de Chile.

     In 2003 she won the XXX Concurso Internacional de Canto at Viña del Mar - the very first time it had been awarded to a Chilean. She was a finalist in the Concurso de Canto Bilbao the following year and in 2005 she won the Premio APES as the most outstanding female singer in opera for her performance as Lucia in Donizetti's "Lucia di Lammermoor". 

     Her repertoire in opera, in addition to Lucia, covers the roles of Sussana in Mozart's "Le Nozze diFigaro", Zerlina in "Don Giovanni", Clorinda in "La Cenerentola" by Rossini, Poppea in Monteverdi's "L'incoronazione di Poppea", Micaela in Bizet's "Carmen", Adele in Strauss's "Die Fledermaus" and most recently as Marie in "La Fille du Regiment" and Adina in "L'elisir d'Amore"  both by Donizetti.

     Patricia Cifuentes symphonic repertoire includesthe Requiems of Mozart, Fauré and Brahms, Beethovens 9th, Mahler's 2nd, Dvorak's Stabat Mater  and Mozart's  final masterpiece - the Grand Mass.

      Patricia has also given numerous recitals covering a wide range of classical music from the baroque to the XIX century With her attractive persoality and acting ability she invariably attracts resounding ovations.

     In December 2007, Patricia rceieved the annual Prize for in the category of Opera from the Circle of Art Critics in Chile for her performances in "La Fille du Regiment" and "Die Fledermaus."

     Patricia is a resident of Chile but has travelled extensively in the USA and Europe. Fluent in Spanish and English she is willing to travel for auditions in New York, Los Angeles,Latinoamerica, London and Sydney.
